Abdoulaye (Pape) Tall

Pape quit high school in the early 70’s in protest of the national school curriculum. Senegal, was independent for just over a decade but Senegalese students continued to study the French curriculum. Pape felt that for young people to become confident and help develop their new nation, the curriculum needed to focus on Senegal. He is a self taught poet, writer and researcher. He has collaborated with the United Nations on subjects from street children to poverty and development. His on-going research on the human rights of street children continues to receive national acclaim.

As a WFG coordinator, he visits with begging grandmothers on the street, visits our children in their homes and travels to their native villages. In our two villages, he coordinates training and micro finance initiatives.
